Nuit Carrée 3 / Square Night 3. Oil on canvas, 1984. This work, part of a long series of paintings and prints, was inspired by Edward Young's long philosophical poem, The Complaint, or Night Thoughts on Life, Death, and Immortality in Nine Nights (first pbulished in 1742, with additions through 1745), present us with an emotional night or dream state of transformations and shifting versions of imaginative realities that is anything but plain or straightforward. One of Titus-Carmel's masterpieces. Illustrated in Nuits: vingt-quatre peintures réalisées en 1984 published under the direction of the Musées de Nice for an exhibition at the Galerie des Ponchettes (1985); it is also illustrated in a catalogue published for the same exhibition by the Musée d'Art Moderne de Villeneuve d'Ascq. In addition, it is illustrated in a full-page color plate in the large-format series, Eighty: Les Peintres En France Dans Les Années 80. Image size: 2050x2050 mm (80x80 inches). Price: NFS.

The painting is also illustrated in a catalogue issued for a retrospective sponsored by the French "Ministere de la Culture, de la Communication, et des Grand Travaux" that toured the Middle East in 1990-91 with stops at the Centres Culturel Francais in Damascus, Alexandria, and Cairo and was also presented at Espace 87 in Tunis. This is one of Titus-Carmel's favorite paintings, and was reproduced as a poster for his Chateauroux exhibition in 1987. Included in Titus' 1990 Retrospective at the Musée Ingres. Chancay: Peinture No. 6. Oil on canvas, 1985. Illustrated in a full-page color plate in in the Titus-Carmel issue of the large-format series, Eighty: Les Peintres En France Dans Les Années 80, 1988. Exhibited in 1985 at Galerie Lelong, Paris. Another painting in this series was purchased by the Guggenheim museum and was included in their 50th Anniversary Show and Catalogue of the most significant acquisitions of their first 50 Years.
